Meet Koen

Thank you for visiting my website!

As a Lean Organization consultant, I am very passionate about creating high performing teams. Work is not just about output. It must be an opportunity for people to grow and develop themselves.

I worked for almost 20 years as a manager and CFO in a Japanese multinational. Besides the traditional managerial activities, together with the Japanese management I measured and improved the company's performance. As a result, I got to know the Lean Method from the inside out.

Lean Thinking is a framework to make people act more effectively and productively. But, it has its limitations if we apply it strictly to process improvement on the shop floor.

Instead, Lean should be a company-wide operating system about how people come together in a group.

What they practice as human beings, the interconnection, the listening, the acknowledgement.

The disruption we are facing right now is not only about technology and customer preferences.

People's attitude towards life and work is disruptive too. They are disengaging from the old and reductant "command and control" style.

Instead, especially high-talent people see work as an opportunity for self-development.

I lived with this disruption too. Too often, I have felt like I was leaving my emotions and higher intentions in the trunk of my car, not knowing how to integrate them and enrich my working experience. And so I started to study what the world’s leading experts are saying about this topic.

I've spent the last few years trying to blend the world of Lean Thinking together with Conscious Leadership and Mindfulness.

I consider myself a learner and not an expert. However, I believe that this combination can create the right intention and awareness to make Lean Incredible!

I am a big believer in improving the quality of life. We can develop capabilities that make us upgrade our awareness and behaviour and, by extension, the skills of our teams and the organization.

The journey of Leancredible starts with our self-mastery. For example, we can begin to recognize certain automatic responses that are not the most effective ones.

As we improve communication with our teams and develop a model of empathetic leadership, the whole organization will become much more fit to thrive in these disruptive times.
